shades of salmon

so today i cooked my first official meal by myself. and by official i mean something other than grilled cheese, scrambled eggs, or ramen.

so this is the salmon i cooked. when the heck do you know if the salmon is cooked enough? people say that when it turns pink it's done. dude, salmon starts out pink. just like guys say they wear a "salmon" colored shirt rather than "pink". anyways, i had no idea what i was doing. even if the outside looks alright the inside might not be cooked and how do you know? so i started out with decent 4"x2" slices, but i'm no Silver Age (Pre-Crisis) Superman (according to wikipedia when i checked up superman powers to make sure he had x-ray vision/heat vision) so i had to use the spatula to break apart each piece to check if it was done.

here's the final dinner: it can only get better from here right? haha. i think the dish that turned out best was the corn - probably because i just used the microwave for that. i had fried rice that my mom cooked last week, but i think there was something growing in it so i threw it away. i thought fried rice never went bad.

i cooked scrambled eggs with cheese and onions the other day. i figured scrambled eggs with cheese is good and scrambled eggs with onion is good so why not mix them all together to get something even better. bad decision. bad bad decision. i really should have offered to help more when we ate at marty and stan's. haha. ah well. there's ten fast food places within ten minutes of me so it's all good. there's a kfc! and a carl's jr and an arby's, del taco, baja fresh, taco bell, bk, mcd's, wendy's, and taco time.

and awesome chinese restaurants with names like Chan's and Hong Kong Restaurant. i have yet to go to one, but i have a feeling they are like a glorified panda express, perhaps worse. if i do go you'll be sure to hear about it. haha.
